I have mixed feelings about the RAH presentation.\u00a0 It was very well done and had\u00a0 excellent actors, visuals, graphics, references, commentary, etc. But, I came away from watching the program somewhat disappointed.<\/p>\n
I’m glad they stayed away from critical views and focused mainly on his contributions and visions but they skipped most all of his early works.\u00a0 The mostly focused on Stranger, Starship Troopers and Friday and his belief in a strong military.\u00a0 What about the Juvenile series?\u00a0 In my mind’s eye I have a picture of RAH that I’ve built from reading all his stories, his biography, book reviews, the Heinlein Journals and the personal remembrances from others such as found in the Centennial Souvenir Book, etc.\u00a0 This program did not equal my picture of him.<\/p>\n
Did they interview anyone who actually knew him really well?\u00a0 Is there anyone around anymore that knows him really well?\u00a0 I know Bill Patterson is very well informed about RAH’s history, but Bill says he never met him.<\/p>\n
Enough of the pessimistic views.\u00a0 I loved all the pictures.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 Is there anywhere I can access these pictures?\u00a0 Who has them?\u00a0 Please tell me where I can go to get them.\u00a0 I saw him speaking in a film clip. OMG!\u00a0 I’ve never seen him speak before.\u00a0 I want a film clip.\u00a0 I want to\u00a0 buy a film clip.\u00a0 I saw a picture of Ginny in her later years.\u00a0 She is very attractive.<\/p>\n
Can the Society build a pictorial page?\u00a0 Can I see Ginny speaking?\u00a0 Are there any taped interviews of Ginny and RAH?\u00a0 I want one.<\/p>\n
All of the actors and commentators did an excellent job.\u00a0 Especially Bill Patterson and Robert James.\u00a0 I didn’t know he was a proponent of the Internet and Web.\u00a0 Really, is this so?\u00a0 The bit on a moon base was great.\u00a0 An hour wasn’t enough.<\/p>\n
